| Over 700 Angolans repatriated, (Angolan Press Agency, 2005-01-23):-A total of 756 Angolan citizens who lived illegally in various countries of the world were repatriated in 2004, a source from the Immigration Services (SME) that reached Angop today said in Luanda. According to the source, among the national citizens repatriated, 275 came from Namibia, 269 from Holland, 69 England and 32 from France. Also repatriated were 23 citizens from Portugal, 16 from South Africa, 21 Germany, 17 Belgium, seven Switzerland, four Finland, four from Spain and Irish, two from Mozambique, three USA, and 10 national citizens who resided in Botswana, Brazil, Cape-Verde, Canada, China, D.R. Congo, Sweden, Austria, Italy and Japan. On the other hand, the source informed that 144 Angolans were prevented from entering some countries of Europe, Asia and Africa, due to the lack of means of subsistence. The number of Angolans repatriated in 2004 was 132 less than the previous year (2003). The Immigration Services were set up on 19 April 1975. | |
