| Calls to Fight Border Jumping, (Angola Press Agency, 2006-07-05):-Angola's ruling MPLA party in northern Uije province, Wednesday here appealed to the local population to join the national police in the fight against rising illegal immigration. Speaking to Angop, MPLA first provincial secretary, Pedro Diavoca, said the country is going through a very complex process that includes the preparation of elections, so the population should join the police in denouncing any border jumping they detect. "Our province has a lengthy land and fluvial border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, reason why the population should be watchful to prevent foreigners from participating in the country's forthcoming election," he said. | |
