More Attractive Immigration Laws, (Angola Press Agency, 2006-09-05):-Angola`s current juridical and legal framework is very restrictive and hinders the immigration of highly qualified manpower and investors, said Tuesday in Luanda the Home minister, Roberto Leal Monteiro 'Ngongo'. The minister was addressing the ongoing seminar on Angola/Brazil trade relations, as part of the celebrations of the 184th anniversary of that south American country’s independence, September 7. On the other hand, the minister admitted that investors and qualified immigrants are beneficial to the country’s development. He stated that the authorities are working on structural arrangements to match the development needs with immigration. The Home minister thus appealed to the concerned authorities to set up a more attractive legal framework encouraging the immigration of investors and qualified manpower, through the expansion and specialisation of visas and speeding up their issuing procedures. According to the minister the new bill on foreigners juridical regime contain elements that provide more protection and trust to foreign investors and specific visas adjusted to the profile and volume of investment are being considered.
