This list contains the most common procedural motions required for Senate taken from the Rules of Procedure and Bourinot’s Rules of Order – Standford, Revised 4th Ed.

Suspend Rules of Procedures: 2/3 of members present must vote in favour

Amend or Repeal Rules of Procedure: Notice of Motion (Section 17)

Speaking: 1 time only, maximum 10 minutes, Mover has a right of reply after all others have spoken

Request division of motion: Motions consisting of multiple actions which are not integrally linked shall be divided for the purpose of voting at the request of any member.
