Student Life Committee


The Student Life Committee reviews Student Life trends and practices that aim to foster the growth and development of residents and the residence community.

Generally, the Student Life Sub-Committee reviews and provides recommendations on topics relating to:

  • Providing a safe and secure environment for residents;
  • Supporting the broader learning environment through educational programming and
  • leadership opportunities;
  • Promoting health and wellness;
  • Fostering academic development in students; and
  • Facilitating the transition for students to residence and into the University community.

Without limiting the scope of the committee, the committee may be mandated to review such matters as are referred to it by the Senate Residence Committee.

The Student Life Committee shall provide regular reports for information and recommendations for approval annually (if applicable) to the Senate Residence Committee.


  • Chair – Director, Residence Life
  • President, Residence Society (or Executive designate)
  • Residence Life Coordinator
  • Residence Life Intern
  • Health Education/Promotion Coordinator or designate (Health, Counselling & Disability
  • Services)
  • Learning Strategies Outreach Coordinator or designate from Student Academic Success Services
  • (Writing Centre and Learning Strategies)
  • Member of the Senate Residence Committee (only if there is no other SRC voting member)
  • Residence Society First Year Chair (FYAC) or designate
