Student Life Committee

Mandate

The Student Life Committee is a standing committee of the Senate Residence Committee that is charged with developing policy and procedure that fosters the growth and development of resident students and the residence community. 

Generally, the Student Life Sub-Committee is responsible for:

  • Providing a safe and secure environment for residents;
  • Supporting the broader learning environment through educational programming and leadership opportunities;
  • Fostering academic development in students; and
  • Facilitating the transition for residents to the University community.

The Student Life Sub-Committee is to work in collaboration with the Council Sub-Committee on matters of mutual concern and/or matters that will impact students' life in residence.

Chair – Manager of Residence Life
President, Residence Society (or designate)
Residence Life Coordinator
Residence Life Intern
Health Education/Promotion Coordinator or designate (Health, Counselling & Disability Services)
Learning Strategies Outreach Coordinator or designate from Student Success unit (Writing Centre and Learning Strategies)
Member of the Senate Residence Committee (only if there is no other SRC voting member)
Resident Student-at-Large (preferably 1st year student)
Peer Health Educator
Peer Learning Strategies
Peer Writing Assistant
