Career Week 2016

The School of Graduate Studies third annual Graduate and Post-Doctoral Career Week went off without a hitch!  With eleven workshops and culminating in a reception at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, it was a week for grad students and post-docs to start preparing for life after grad studies, whether in academia, business, government or the non-profit sector.

Career Week is just that, a chance to come to workshops to consider career planning (e.g. in the workshop "The Versatile Graduate"), and learn what students can do now to prepare themselves for the job market (preparing your CV, resume, cover letter, building skills & experience and what interviewing techniques can help).  It was also a chance to meet alumni who have gone the graduate route and are now in either academia, the private, or public sector.

If you didn't get a chance to participate in the workshops throughout the week, take a look at the Career Week tab in the Expanding Horizons website for slides and speaker information.
