New junior fellow to advance research agenda

Ontario Centre for Engineering and Public Policy welcomes Jana Levison TORONTO,ON

The Ontario Centre for Engineering and Public Policy (OCEPP) is pleased to announce that Jana Levison has taken up the post of inaugural junior fellow. Levison is an engineer-in-training and is nearing the completion of her PhD in the department of civil engineering at Queen's University in Kingston.

"The centre is delighted to have Jana join the team and contribute her engineering and public policy expertise," noted Donald Wallace, executive director. "It was clear from her initial contact with the centre that she has the background, drive and commitment to make a solid contribution to the centre and its mandate."

During her one-year fellowship Levison will collaborate on all of the centre's programs as well as conduct independent research. She is keenly interested in investigating the engineering policy aspects of ground-source heating and cooling installations. In use for many years, these systems produce almost no carbon emissions and they are gaining popularity as a renewable energy source.

Levison earned a bachelor of applied science degree in civil engineering from Queen's in 2004 and she has received numerous academic awards, including an NSERC post-graduate scholarship and an Ontario graduate scholarship in science and technology.
