Kim McAuley will be joining the School of Graduate Studies as an Associate Dean from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. Dr. McAuley is replacing Brenda Brouwer who will be on administrative leave.
Dr. McAuley is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering. She received her B.A.Sc. from the University of Waterloo in 1987, her doctorate from McMaster University and joined Queen's University in 1991. Dr. McAuley is the recipient of many honours and awards including being recently honoured with the Award for Graduate Supervision from the School of Graduate Studies. Her contributions in teaching and in research have earned her a Premier's Research Excellence Award, a First-Year Teaching and Learning Award, and two Golden Apple Teaching Awards.
She served as the Chair of Division III from 2002 to 2006 and on the Senate Committee on Academic Development subcommittee to review the governance structure of the School of Graduate Studies and Research in 2006-2007.
