Call for proposals to instruct enrichment courses in 2012
October 3, 2011 -- The Enrichment Studies Unit invites all Queen’s University departments, faculty members and graduate students to submit proposals to instruct enrichment courses in the spring of 2012. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2011. Visit the ESU website for complete details: http://esu.queensu.ca , and/ or attend an Information Session on October 12th.
The Enrichment Studies Unit (ESU) at Queen's University, an initiative of the Faculty of Arts and Science, offers enrichment courses during Reading Week and in the months of May and June for elementary, intermediate and secondary school students. These programs give gifted and highly motivated young people the opportunity to study a subject at an advanced level for up to one week on Queen's campus, and get a glimpse into the life of a post-secondary student. Every year we review our course selections and cast the net for new and innovative courses to offer. Although we are interested in receiving proposals for new courses, a proposal for 2012 must also be submitted for those courses that have run in previous years.
To submit a proposal to instruct an enrichment course in 2012, please visit our website under the “For ESU Instructors”section: http://esu.queensu.ca/instructors.php. There you will find more information and links to our Proposal Form which is to be completed and submitted electronically. I have also attached the necessary documents to this email. Interested candidates may choose attend one of two information sessions being held on Wednesday, October 12, at either 9:30am or 1:30pm, in Mackintosh-Corry Room A311. Please register in advance for one of the sessions by emailing esu@queensu.ca.
In particular, we are looking for the following types of courses to add to our current offerings:
Courses are selected based on the depth of study, academic challenge, variety and quality of teaching methods, instructor qualifications, university experience and overall quality of proposal.
Please note that the deadline to submit proposals is Monday, October 31, 2011.
