Awards for Excellence in Graduate Student Supervision

July 2011

The 2011 recipients of the Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision are Charles Beach (Economics) and Virginia Walker (Biology). Drs. Beach and Walker will be presented their awards during the Fall 2011 convocation.  The Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision recognizes outstanding supervisors from the Social Sciences and Humanities and from the Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Engineering who demonstrate an enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge, and who encourage research and professional development of the student through mentorship and guidance. 2010 winners: Audrey Kobayashi (Geography) and Roderick Lindsay (Psychology); 2009 winners: Lynda Jessup (Art History) and Kim McAuley (Chemical Engineering);  2008 winners: Julian Barling (Business) and James Cordy (Computing).
