This semester has a full schedule for the Expanding Horizons workshops series for graduate and professional students. From learing presentation skills to how to become engaged in community involvement, there literally is something for everyone.
This week get started with "Looking after your mental health as a grad student", presented by Dr Mike Condra from the HCDS. This session (Wed 16th, 4pm start in Career Services room 325a) is specifically for grad students.
A feature this month is grad students panel discussion on how to work experience in the community as a volunteer or as part of an internship. This workshop provides information about how to develop professional skills while a graduate student through volunteer work and internships. Learning to bridge your academic world with the larger world through volunteering & internships can provide invaluable work experience, provide opportunities to practise professional skills, and enable you to communicate with diverse audiences. How to locate and pursue opportunities for civic engagement locally and globally will be addressed.
