Orientation 2016 - Welcome New Students!

September 6, 2016

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), the Division of Student Affairs, and the Society of Graduate and Professional Students (SGPS) welcomed many of this year's new graduate students at the Pancake Breakfast, Welcome and Resource Fair. This year the event was held at the Athletics and Recreation Centre in the Queen's Centre. New students were welcomed by Vice Provost and Dean, SGS, Brenda Brouwer, Dean of Student Affairs, Ann Tierney, and by two current graduate students, Amanda Tracey (Biology PhD student who also writes for the Gradifying Blog), and Omar Bachour (Philosophy PhD student) who shared their personal experiences and tips for making the most of grad school.

Afterwards, students had the opportunity to mingle at the booths and learn about the resources available during their graduate studies at Queen's.

Orientation Week 2016 is far from over: Tomorrow (September 7) the Centre for Teaching and Learning is hosting the Teaching Development Day, for anyone who teaches at Queen's (or might teach in the future). Take a look at the Orientation schedule to see what other events are coming up!
