We invite you to share in our tradition of almost 170 continuous years of instruction in Greek and Latin and deepen your passion for the ancient world in our graduate program in Classics.
Because our program is small, we are able to provide our students with individual attention and support. As a result, our students consistently win both internal and external awards and fellowships.
Our faculty members have expertise in Greek and Roman archaeology, history, language and literature, so your research opportunities are vast and varied.
You will also have opportunities to join archaeology groups and take part in faculty supervised digs around the Mediterranean world.
Application Deadline: February 15 for September admission, but later applications are accepted
Notification of acceptance is early to mid-March.
"The Classics department at Queen's is a relatively small, friendly department where the faculty and staff are always eager to speak with students. Add to that the multiple opportunities for international field research and it is easy to see why students feel so at home here."
In addition, students in both patterns take two "pro-seminars" (CLAS 800 and 802) in which the skills required by the discipline are addressed.
