All students receive their degree in Kinesiology and Health Studies.
The doctoral candidate is required to complete a minimum of six one-term graduate level courses or their equivalent, beyond the bachelor’s degree. In addition, students must also complete at least two graduate level courses, chosen in consultation with their Supervisor, while enrolled as a doctoral candidate in SKHS.
Successful completion of the following additional non-credit courses is also required and will be noted on your transcript (if you completed these educational requirements as an SKHS master's student you are not required to repeat them):
- Course in Research Ethics (CORE) (SGS 804)
- Accessible Customer Service Education (AODA 800)
Attendance at Graduate Seminar Series.
Comprehensive examination containing a written and oral section.
A Thesis Proposal.
A doctoral thesis (KHS 999), which must be defended orally.
