Mission
The CVSRL works to understand the characteristics of the endothelial response to changes in blood flow and how this can be applied to understand and prevent pathological changes in vascular function.
Research Goals
- Improving our understanding of how the endothelium responds to changes in blood flow
- Improving endothelial function assessment in humans
- Understanding how endothelial function changes with disease
- Investigating the physiological mechanisms (e.g. stress hormone responses and autonomic nervous system activity) that link psychosocial stress to the development of cardiovascular disease
