Note: In 2010-11, six HLTH graduates from Spring 2010 returned to Queen's as follows: three students entered a Bachelor of Education; one student entered an MSC in Kinesiology and Health Studies; one student entered a Masters in Public Administration; and, one student entered a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology.
After the completion of my BSc in
Biology and BAH in Health Studies, I will be going to Strathclyde
University in Glasgow Scotland to complete my Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary).
Health has now been included as a core focus in all aspects of
education along with literacy and numeracy. I plan on working in
Scotland after the completion of the program.
V.C. - BSC GEN BIOL, BAH MAJ HLTH
I have deferred my entry into the London School of Economics' MSC Health, Community and Development program for one year. In 2010-11, I will be in the Bachelor of Education
(Primary-Junior) at York University which will include a teaching
placement in Kenya at the end of Winter Term 2011. My long-term goal is
to work in the field of health education for children.
J.C. - BAH MAJ HLTH
I am currently working as a research
assistant for my undergraduate project supervisor Dr. Amy Latimer here
at SKHS during the summer. In September 2010, I will be returning to
Queen's for a 16-month Masters of Public Health in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology.
Upon completing the program, I am hoping to work as a mental health
promotion specialist in the area of eating disorders, depression, and
risky sexual behaviours prevention among the adolescent population.
W. C. - BAH MED PSYC HLTH
In September 2010, I will begin a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology
at University of Toronto specializing in the area of women's health. In
the future, I plan to pursue a career as a clinical health
psychologist.
L.J.T. - BAH MED PSYC HLTH
Upon graduation, I will be heading home to Niagara Falls for the summer. In September I will be attending the University of Western for Teacher's College. I am hoping to gain a position teaching French as a second language.
E.F. - BAH MJM HLTH FREN
This fall I will be working as a facilitator at a school for autistic children. The following year I plan to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science and Nutrition at Ryerson University in hopes of becoming a Registered Dietitian.
