Academic Integrity

The Department of Sociology takes Academic Integrity very seriously.  It is expected that all students that are enrolled in Sociology courses have read Regulation 1 of the Academic Regulations in the Arts and Science Calendar on "Academic Integrity".

If a student is faced with an investigation of a departure from Academic Integrity, she/he should inform themselves of the process and seek advice on how to deal with such matters.  Some helpful links are listed below:

Please note that departures from the principles of academic integrity include such practices as submitting the same piece of work in more than one course without the permission of the instructor(s); citing material without referencing; and the buying or selling term papers or assignments and submitting them as one's own.

You should always identify the sources of ideas, words, and phrases that come from someone else.  If you are in doubt, please ask your instructor.
