Established in 1990 in memory of Danny Norman Blythe, B.A.(Honours)'85 by his parents, Norman and Hazel Blythe, his uncle and aunt, Joe and Thelma McKeown, his cousins, Doug and Brenda Werden (McKeown), B.A.(Honours)'76, and his Godson Dustyn Werden. Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Department to an outstanding student entering the final year of an Honours program in Sociology with preference given to those who have taken courses in criminology.
Awarded by recommendation of the Department of Sociology at the end of the second year to the student deemed to have achieved the best performance in two sociology courses which consist of SOCY221 and SOCY 210*/211*.
Awarded by recommendation of the Department of Sociology to the student who is deemed to have achieved the best performance in sociology at the end of the third year and who is admitted to the fourth year of a sociology program.
Awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Sociology to a graduating student in the B.A.(Honours) program with a concentration in Sociology at Queen's University who has achieved high grades and has demonstrated general intellectual proficiency and is proceeding to a graduate degree program at any university.
