The Department offers Italian language courses as well as a Minor Plan in Italian.
Italian language courses will enhance a student's Major concentration by providing them with a beginning to intermediate knowledge of the language, along with an introduction to Italy's culture, history and a glimpse of their everyday life.
A Minor Plan in Italian will provide students with an intermediate competency in Italian language, along with courses in literature, culture, film and theatre. A Minor Plan in Italian will enhance and complement a Major Plan in Art History, Drama, English, Film, and Music, to name a few.
The Department also offers an Introduction to Semiotics and Communication (IDIS-200) which introduces students to the literary and linguistic fields as well as communication through to theatre, cinema, art, and media.
