Charles F. Manski is the Board of Trustees Professor in the Department of Economics and Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University. Professor Manski's research spans econometrics, judgement and decision, and the analysis of social policy. He is author of many influential articles and books including the forthcoming Public Policy in an Uncertain World: Analysis and Decisions. He has, among other positions, served as Director of the Institute for Research on Poverty, Chair of the NRC Committee on Data and Research for Policy on Illegal Drugs, is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, and an elected fellow of the Econometric Society, The American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
