Hand-Purvis Conference Room

The School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University is pleased to announce a conference in honour of Tom Courchene at which we will celebrate his many contributions to Canadian public policy.  On the Friday evening (26 October) there will be banquet and ceremony chaired by David Dodge, the Chancellor of Queen’s University.

The  conference will explore a variety of themes on which Tom Courchene has worked, such as economic policy, social policy, federalism, aboriginal policy, and climate change. It will be held at Queen’s University in the Hand-Purvis Conference Room located at Dunning Hall, room 213.

On the Friday evening, October 26, there will be a banquet and ceremony to honour Tom. David Dodge, the Chancellor of Queen’s University, will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening. A number of colleagues who have worked closely with Tom over the years, at Queen’s and elsewhere, will offer tributes and, hopefully, some gentle roasting of our honouree.

The banquet will take place at 7:00PM in the Islandview Ballroom in the Holiday Inn Kingston-Waterfront hotel, located at 2 Princess Street.  There will be a reception beforehand beginning at 6:00PM which will give guests the opportunity to catch up with Tom and other special guests.
