Michel De Salaberry, Former Ambassador of Canada to Egypt, Iran and Jordan

Michel De Salaberry was Canadian Ambassador to Egypt from 2001 to 2004, Jordan in 1995-96 and also served in Israel-Palestine and Algeria. In Ottawa he served as Chief of Staff to the Minister for Constitutional Affairs, and Director, Middle East Relations Division at Foreign Affairs Canada. He is now engaged in a number of civil society activities with L'Arche communities of the mentally handicapped in both Gatineau and Bethlehem-Azzarieh, the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations, and the Shehab community centre in an informal Cairo suburb, with which he spends 3 months a year.
