Deb Stark

Amethyst Fellow, School of Policy Studies, Queen's University

Deb Stark is the 2012 Amethyst fellow at the Queens University School of Policy Studies. She is on leave from the Ontario Public Service where she is an Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of the Environment (MOE). Deb has spent much of her career in Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. From 2005 - 2012, she served as Chief Veterinary Officer for Ontario with responsibility for animal health and welfare, and food safety programs. At the MOE, Deb led the Ministry’s Science and Standards Division. This division plays a significant role in monitoring the state of the environment. Deb is a past chair of the OPSEU Pension Trust, (a significant public pension fund) and the current chair of her local hospice.
