Professor Alvin Roth will visit Queen’s University on September 17th and 18th (2013) to deliver the 2013 J. Douglas Gibson Lecture. Professor Roth received the 2012 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics with Prof. Lloyd Shapley for their work on "the theory of stable allocations and the practice of market design” in October 2012. This path-breaking research demonstrates how cooperative game theoretic models can be applied to solve a variety of policy problems related to market design. Professor Roth is the George Gund Professor of Economics and Business Administration at Harvard University and a Research Associate at the Natural Bureau of Economic Research. He will join the Economics Department at Stanford University in 2013. Further details including the exact date, time and location of Professor Roth’s Gibson Lecture will be posted in a few months at this website.
