SPS Faculty Member Receives Honorary Doctorate

The Famous Blue Hall, Stockholm City Hall, Sweden SPS faculty member, Keith Banting, will receive a doctorate honoris causa from Stockholm University at a ceremony for the conferment of doctoral degrees and the inauguration of new professors, followed by a banquet and dancing, at Stockholm City Hall on Friday, September 28.  This is the same venue used for Nobel Prize festivities. 

Dr. Banting, Professor of Policy Studies and Political Studies and a former director of the Queen’s School of Policy Studies, is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Stockholm University's Linnaeus Center for Integration Studies (SULCIS).  A frequent visitor to the University, he has been chosen as the social sciences recipient for his work on the welfare state, immigration and integration.   

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Friday, beginning at 11am EST.  See
