Frequently Asked Questions
How Often is QPR published?
Number of issues published per year will depend upon the current editorial board. There will be one publication for 2013 that runs at the end of April.
How can I get published in QPR?
Articles may be submitted anytime up until the submissions deadline. Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review by student editors. Articles selected for publication will then be reviewed by a faculty member in the Queen's School of Policy Studies. Following faculty review, successful authors will receive a copy of their article with recommended edits and revisions. They will then have three weeks to submit a final version of their article.
What kind of articles do you accept?
QPR primarily accepts essays and research articles. Research papers may be part of coursework, summer research, an independent project or an honours thesis. We also accept book reviews on works that pertain to public policy and governance. These reviews are subject to the same formatting criteria as essays and articles.
Can I submit a paper I have previously written?
Yes, so long as the submission adheres to the submissions guidelines established for a given publication year and it has not been previously submitted or published elsewhere.
