The following awards have been made available thanks to the generosity of Queen's donors.
Under the will of the late Albert Irvin Armstrong, provision was made for a number of bursaries in the School of Medicine. Awards will be made on the basis of need.
Established by family and friends of Dr. Thomas J. Boag, Dean, School of Medicine (1975-1982) and Vice-Principal, Health Sciences (1982-1988). Awarded on the basis of financial need to an undergraduate medical student in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Preference will be given to a student who has an interest in Psychiatry. Selection will be made in consultation with the Dean of Health Sciences.
Established by Dr. Ernest A. Boxall, Meds. '45, and awarded annually on the basis of financial need to a student in good standing in the fourth medical year.
Under the will of the late Russell D. Bradshaw, a fund was established to assist medical student at the University of Toronto, Queen's University, and the University of Western Ontario. Bursaries are awarded to students in any medical year. The candidate's place of residence must be at least 25 miles beyond the corporate limits of Toronto, Kingston, and London.
The terms for this award are cross listed with named General Bursaries, Engineering and Applied Science.
Established in April 2001 by the Chepesiuk family. Awarded to a student in any medical year in the Faculty of Health Sciences who exhibits academic excellence, participates in intramural sport(s), and has financial need. Selection will be made in consultation with the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Under the will of Dr. W.H. Cole, MD 1908, provision was made for a bursary to be used to assist students in the Medical Program in the School of Medicine. Awards will be made on the basis of financial need.
Established in January 2008 by his children Catherine and Christopher Cornett in memory of their father, William Cornett, M.D. 1945, and awarded on the basis of financial need to undergraduate students in any year in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Established in April 2004 by Dr. Cortlandt MacKenzie, Meds '51, and awarded on the basis of financial need to undergraduate students in any medical year in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University.
Established in 1997 by Dr. L. Bruce Cronk, Medicine 1946, and Mrs. Harriet E. (Cronk) Simmons, Arts, 1941, in memory of their father. Awarded on the basis of financial need to undergraduate students in any medical year within the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University who are residents of Ontario.
Established by an anonymous donor, and awarded on the basis of sound academic record and financial need to a full-time medical student in the Faculty of Health Science. Preference will be given to a student from Northern Ontario.
Established in April 2001 from the estate of Marion Dunn in memory of her brother, John Dunn and their father, Dr. J.M. Dunn, graduating class of Medicine, 1910. Awarded on the basis of financial need to a full-time medical student in the Faculty of Health Sciences who is a resident of Eastern Ontario. Preference will be given to a student from Leeds County.
Established by his former students in honour of Dr G. Harold Ettinger, Dean of Medicine at Queen's University from 1949 to 1962. Awarded to medical students in good standing to assist in meeting unexpected financial need; any excess funds will be used to support initiatives to improve teaching and learning in the medical program.
Under the will of the late John Burke Ewing (Med'32), provision was made for a bursary to be awarded annually on the basis of need to a medical student who is a graduate of a high school in the County of Leeds or the County of Frontenac excepting high schools within the municipal limits of the cities of Brockville and Kingston who, in the opinion of the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Studies, is deserving of the award. In the event that there is no eligible candidate for the award, a bursary will be awarded to a medical student who has graduated from a high school located in Ontario and not within the geographical limits of a municipality having a population in excess of twenty-five thousand at the time of high school graduation.
Established in January 2005 in memory of Ben Finkelstein, Medicine 1941, and in honour of those family members who are at present attending Queen's University, by his wife Eve (Zbar) Finkelstein, Arts 1942. Awarded on the basis of financial need to a student in the fourth year of studies in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University.
Established in April 2007 by Alice Gaukrodger, B.A.(Hons) 1951, M.A. 1953, in memory of her husband, William Gaukrodger, M.D. 1953, and awarded on the basis of financial need to second-year medical students in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Established by members of the class of Medicine 1971 in memory of Dr. W.R. Ghent, Medicine 1947 (Honorary 1971 Class President), and in recognition of their 25th reunion. Awarded on the basis of financial need to students in any medical year in the School of Medicine who are residents of Ontario.
Established in January 2012 by the Estate of Larry Gibson and awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need to students in any year of the School of Medicine at Queen's University, who have resided in Kingston, Ontario for not less than ten (10) years prior to attending Queen's University School of Medicine. Preference will be given to students who have an interest in palliative care.

Established in October 2006 by Keith Guyitt in loving memory of his wife Donna Jeanne Guyitt and in appreciation of Dr. John Richard Adams, Meds. 1998. Awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement to a student in the fourth year in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Preference will be given to students who are interested in pursuing residency in Neurology.
Established in November 2004 in memory of Dr. Gordon Hamilton, Meds 1913, by family and friends and awarded on the basis of financial need to students in any year of studies in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Science.
Established by Dr. B.C. Hardiman, (Meds '14). Available to a needy and deserving student in any medical year. Preference shall be given to a relative of an ex-service man or woman.

Established in November 2000 by the Aescupalian Society, friends and colleagues in honour of Dean Barry Smith, Meds '69, for his years of service to the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University. In honour of L.M.A. Smith (Sci '36) and Evelyn Smith (nee Shillington), (Arts '35), a bursary has been established by their children, Allison, Gordon, Norman, and Anthony, to assist students in the School of Medicine. Awards will be made on the basis of need to students in good standing.
The Adiel Steacy Scholarships are to be used for the support of students of high quality from the Brockville Secondary Schools who are in need of assistance to enable them to pursue the study of medicine at Queen's University. Scholarships will be awarded annually in any of the four medical years. If a student of high quality is not available from Brockville, a student who obtained secondary school education from elsewhere in Ontario may be chosen.
