Financing Your Queen's Education

2914.jpg We want you to succeed at Queen’s!  There’s no better time than now to develop your financial plan for your undergraduate degree.  We want you to have the information you need, and the support you may require to finance your education, whether it is information about scholarships, bursaries, government assistance or financial advising.  We’re here to help!

The information has been summarized in our electronic brochure called ‘Financing Your Queen’s Education'.

Financing Your Queen's Education - Undergraduate

Below, are some key activities and timelines to assist you in preparing financially for your first year of study at Queen’s.

Activity Explanation Timeframe
Apply for a Queen’s Admission Bursary Admission Bursaries are non-repayable grants based on demonstrated financial need. Apply before February 15, 2015 to ensure you are considered for all our admission awards.  We will continue to accept applications until your Admission Response Deadline in June.
Queen’s Admission Scholarships

Our automatic admission scholarships are based on the grades at the time you are offered admission.  This is a firm offer of a scholarship and not based on your final grades in June.

Review our Admission Scholarships web page for additional awards that may require an application.

There is no application required for our automatic admission scholarships.  If you were eligible for a scholarship, you will receive it in your offer of admission package.
Apply for Government Student Assistance All provinces/territories provide government financial assistance.  Applications are available on the provincial/territorial web sites in April.  We recommend you apply by early June to ensure your funding is available when you begin studies in the fall.
Final Grades Scholarship assessment Once we receive your final grades, we will assess your eligibility for a grade based scholarship or a scholarship of higher value.  This assessment will occur in late June once we receive final grades from your high school.
Registered Education Savings Plans (RESP) Most RESP service providers will ask you to submit confirmation that your son/daughter is enrolled at Queen’s before they release RESP funds for the academic year. Students can print off an online verification of enrollment early July from their SOLUS account.  This can be attached to your RESP form and submitted to the RESP service provider.
Tuition Due Dates Tuition and fees for 2015 will be announced in May 2015.

Tuition is due on September 1, 2015.
Residence and fees are due on September 30, 2015.  (Further information will be provided in the “Guide to Registration and Fees” sent to all entering students in the summer)

We wish you all the best as you continue your studies!
