To Cancel an appointment
Health Services is equipped with a voice mail system with accepts messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please call 613 533-2506 and speak to the receptionist or leave a message on the Cancellation Line if you are unable to come to your Doctor or Nurse appointment. Appointments cannot be cancelled via email.
No Show Policy
Once an appointment is scheduled with Student Health Services, you will be expected to attend that appointment unless you give Health Services required advance notice. Queen’s Student Health asks for 24 hours’ notice when you are unable to keep your appointment.
If you miss your appointment without cancelling, or 'No Show', fees will apply at the following rates:
Missed Physician Appointment
10 minute appointment---$30.00
Greater than or equal to missed 20 minute appointment---$60.00
60 minute family physician counselling/psychotherapy appointment---$120
Missed Nursing Appointment
10 minute nursing appointment---$10.00
Missed Psychiatry Appointment
20 - 20 minute psychiatry appointment---$60.00
31 - 60 minute psychiatry appointment---$120.00
61 - 90 minute psychiatry appointment---$180.00
Fees for no-show appointments can be paid at Student Health Services reception in cash, by debit or by credit card. If a no show charge remains unpaid at Student Health Services after one month, the charges will be placed directly on your Queen’s SOLUS account.
Failure to attend appointments creates considerable delay in the provision of care for yourself, and blocks access to care for other students in need. It also creates a considerable expense to the Clinic and to the health care providers who work on a fee for service basis.
Under exceptional circumstances this fee can be waived and is open to further discussion with your clinician. Unpaid bills will be dealt with in the same way as other debt to the university. Having a charge on your account at the clinic does not prohibit you from seeing your doctor. To assist you in cancelling appointments, the need for which may arise for all sorts of unavoidable reasons, Health Services is equipped with a voice mail system with accepts messages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are unable to come to a scheduled appointment with a Psychiatrist at Health Services, please phone the Division's number and leave a message on the answering machine at any hour of the day or night (613-533-2508). Alternatively, e-mail can be sent to the psychiatry secretary email@example.com.
