Dr. Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Queen's University. He is active in numerous community environmental projects as well as on-going research in China. In the past, he has taught SURP modules on Environmental Assessment for the School.

Betsy Donald is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Queen's University. She has degrees in history, environmental studies, planning and geography from McGill, York and Toronto respectively. She teaches and does research on the urban creative economy. She is also a Registered Professional Planner with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and has consulted on a wide-range of public policy issues for all levels of government.

Bray Heritage (Carl Bray & Associates Ltd.) is a heritage consulting firm specializing in the assessment, planning and development of cultural heritage resources. Carl Bray, Principal, is a heritage planner and landscape architect with graduate degrees in urban design and cultural geography. He has over 30 years of professional experience in both the public and private sectors and has successfuly completed projects across Canada and in the United States, the Caribbean and Great Britain.

Marni Cappe is a professional planner and urban policy analyst. Her recent research has addressed urban governance, fiscal resources, sustainable community planning, housing and homelessness, public-private partnerships, climate change, benchmarking cities, municipal immigration strategies, and community engagement strategies. Marni has been a Senior Policy Advisor for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and managed both housing and land use policy for the Region of Ottawa Carleton, where she shared several professional planning awards. During 2009- 11 , she will be actively engaged in urban planning policy as President of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Marni was educated in economics and planning at Smith College and the University of Toronto. She recently moved to downtown Toronto, after several years in London (UK) and downtown Ottawa.

Sue Cumming is a professional planner and dynamic facilitator with over 25 years experience as a consultant designing and carrying out consultation programs directly related to building liveable communities, growth management, transportation planning and infrastructure undertakings. She is the Principal of Cumming and Company and a leading expert in Ontario known for her skills in constructive public engagement. Sue is President Elect for the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. She serves on the Board of the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition and is Ontario's representative on the National Council of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Preston L. Schiller holds a doctorate in Sociology from Washington University (St. Louis). He has worked on Washington State and U.S. Clean Air and Transportation Acts with environmental coalitions and has served on numerous state and regional transportation planning and policy committees and task forces.

Dr. Streich is a specialist in housing, urban studies, public policy and evaluation. She obtained her degrees in geography at London University (England) and her Master's at the University of Wisconsin before completing a doctorate at Queen's University (Kingston). Her work experience includes planning at the municipal and provincial levels, and she currently holds a position as an evaluator of housing policies and programs with Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation. Recent projects include work on Canada's Affordable Housing Initiative, family violence, and housing finance policies.

Gerald Hodge is a private planning consultant and a former director of the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Queen's University. He is author of Planning Canadian Communities, 5th Edition, with David Gordon; and the forthcoming book, The Geography of Aging: Preparing Communities for the Seniors Surge. He returned to SURP in the Fall 2010 semester to teach SURP-809 Special Topic (Seniors Planning). Recipient of Canadian Institute of Planners' 2008 President's Award.

Mohammad Qadeer is Professor Emeritus of urban and regional planning. He was the Director of the School of Urban and Regional Planning from 1985 to 1996. He has published widely on topics conerning planning for multicultural cities, ethnic enclaves, immigration and settlement, and international development. Since his retirement in 2000, Professor Qadeer has continued to contribute to teaching and learning at the School through course offerings, guest lectures and supervising student research. He returns to SURP to teach SURP-810 Special Topic (Planning for Multiculturalism).

Angie's key responsibilities include overall operations of the School such as administrative support to the Director, staff administration, account management and budget preparation, departmental administration (secretary to all School committees, timetable, exam schedule, classroom and other space considerations, liaising with other units in the University), special events management and advertising/promotional activities. She also coordinates alumni/ae relations and facilitates the work of the China Projects Office and the Ambassadors' Forum. Angie earned a B.A. (Hons.) Geography at Queen's University in 1983 and joined the staff at Queen's in 1986. She has held various administrative positions at the University and worked in the Department of Biochemistry, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the School of Environmental Studies and the Student Awards Office before joining the School of Urban and Regional Planning in 2000.

Jo-Anne's main responsibilities are to coordinate and administer the admissions process and student records and to provide logistical support to student recruitment activities and to the School's Internship Program. She coordinates the day-to-day operations of the main office, provides administrative, logistical and secretarial support to faculty and students, supervises casual office staff, maintains databases and spreadsheets for admissions, current students and alumni/ae, and helps maintain and improve the School's web site for student recruitment and promotion of the planning profession. Jo-Anne came to Queen's in 1984 and worked in Personnel and in the Department of Geography before joining the School of Urban and Regional Planning in 1989.

Li is act as an administrative logistical assistant for our China projects. These duties include translating presentations, organizing travel arrangements, and providing assistance to visiting delegations, scholars, and interns once they arrive at Queen's. She also provide assistance to the Associate Vice-Principal's office with their endeavors in their international projects office, as well as the School of Policy Studies Interchange with Fudan University in Shanghai, China. As a part of the SURP team working as the China Projects Coordinator, and with her multicultural background she is able to facilitate our professional relationships with China. She looks forward to further strengthening ties with China as many new exciting projects are to come.
