Patricia Collins is a researcher and teacher in the area of Healthy Community Planning. She is cross-appointed to Queen’s School of Kinesiology & Health Studies, and is a research associate at the KFL&A Health Unit. She has a PhD in Health Geography from Simon Fraser University, where she taught SFU’s first course on Health and the Built Environment. Patricia grew up just outside of Kingston, and is delighted to be back in her hometown.
Research Interests
Patricia’s research falls within the areas of healthy community planning, population health, urban governance, and sustainability planning, applying a social equity lens to much of her work. Her current research program is diverse, spanning the topics of integrated community sustainability planning, active transportation, and municipal food security.
