Since 1970, our rigorous and well-focused two-year Master of Planning (M.PL.) program allows our students to develop the knowledge and skills they require to become leaders in the planning field and to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving urban environment.
The International Experience Awards Program is intended to provide students with a unique international planning experience. Three awards are provided per school year to full-time students (at the time of application) in The School of Urban and Regional Planning.
The International Experience Awards is one of the School's extensive international outreach activities. The most prominent program is our exchange with China's Ministry of Land and Resources. Last year about 40 senior officials were brought to Canada for training at the School of Urban and Regional Planning.
Through the offices of China's Ambassador, Queen's University signed a general Memorandum of Understanding with Fudan University, Shanghai on student and faculty exchanges. This agreement includes the establishment of a co-laboratory on Urbanization and the Environment. The first project being conducted under this agreement examines the impact of Shanghai's urbanization on its surrounding water quality.
