School of Urban and Regional Planning

School of Urban and Regional Planning

Since 1970, our rigorous and well-focused two-year Master of Planning (M.PL.) program allows our students to develop the knowledge and skills they require to become leaders in the planning field and to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving urban environment.

Prospective Students

The School emphasizes excellence in teaching, with a low student-to-faculty ratio and up-to-date courses that capitalize on the considerable planning experience of our energetic faculty. The flexible M.PL. program can be tailored to meet students' own needs, including three areas of concentration, electives offered by other departments, and a Master's report or thesis option. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, from across Canada and around the world. They may take advantage of an innovative internship program, group planning projects for real clients, scholarships for international experience, generous financial assistance, and the excellent facilities and resources of Queen's University. Canada's oldest degree-granting university, Queen's is located in Kingston, Ontario, a small, picturesque city that offers a satisfying and enriching student experience. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about Planning as a career and the School of Urban and Regional Planning.
