Sustainable food systems are an important part of the sustainability landscape at Queen's.  Where food comes from, how it is produced, processed and prepared, how it is distributed both on and off campus and how it is handled post-consumer enjoyment all have economic, social and environmental impacts.

On campus there are several programs and initiatives designed to reduce this impact including two community gardens, food reclamation, being a bottled water-free campus and support to become a certified fair trade campus.  In addition, Queen’s Hospitality Services is committed to helping protect our community and environment through a variety of initiatives that will help to reduce our carbon footprint and preserve the capability of our environment.
