The Sierra Youth Coalition (SYC) is Canada's only national environmental youth network and is the youth branch of the Sierra Club of Canada, Canada's oldest environmental group. As a part of their Sustainable Campuses initiative, they host a national conference every year at a different school somewhere in Canada - and it's Queen's this year! The conference will be running from October 1st-3rd on campus and will see youth leaders such as yourselves coming in from all across the nation to take part in all the workshops we have to offer. In line with this year's theme (Campus, Community, Change), these workshops include Media Training, Developing a Campaign, Fundraising 101, and more, all skills you will get the opportunity to learn and practice hands on which you can transfer onto your own campus or community projects. They don't necessarily have to be sustainability related, which is the beauty of it!
If you're interested in learning more or registering for the conference, visit http://sustainablecampuses2010.ca/about! This is the last week for regular registration.
Conference registration will take place on Friday, October 1st, between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm in Beamish-Munro Hall.
