Resolution: (1) that without deep reductions, humanity's emissions of greenhouse gases will very likely cause climate change with severe, worldwide impacts in this century; and (2) that Canada should embark immediately on a program of deep reductions in its own emissions."
Smol and Bramley will argue on the "yes" side (Smol on the science question (1) and Bramley on the policy question (2). Solomon and Pardy will argue for the "no" side (Solomon on the science question (1), Pardy on the policy question (2)).
The debaters: Larry Solomon is one of Canada's leading thinkers on energy and author of "The Deniers", a national best-seller; John Smol is one of Canada's leading climate change scientists; Matthew Bramley is one of Canada's most active climate change advocates and activists; and Bruce Pardy who specializes in areas of environmental law and governance.
All are welcome.
