GHG Reduction Strategies

In many ways the GHG reduction strategies are the heart of a climate action plan, as they are the means by which our climate goals are achieved and emission levels begin to drop.  A range of strategies will be explored that include technology-based solutions, infrastructure updates, behavioral programs and policy changes.  These strategy options will be assessed based on a number of factors, including;

  • GHG reduction potential
  • Environmental & social impact
  • Visibility
  • Feasibility & reliability
  • Time frame to implement
  • Capital cost & return on investment
  • Lifecycle cost
  • Deferred maintenance applicability

If you have an idea about how the university can reduce GHG emissions on campus, fill out and submit a form and your strategy will be considered as a possible initiative within the climate action plan.
