Queen's Sustainability Office hosted a booth at the Healthy U Fair on Wednesday October 22nd. We would like to thank all of you that stopped by to chat.
Water Challenge
For all those who took the "Water Challenge", our blind taste test between tap water and bottled water, we would like to report that the Tap water was in Cup A. 69% correctly identified the tap water and 31% chose the bottled water as tap (Cup B)
We would like to remind people of the impact in choosing to drink bottled water instead of tap water. Overall, the average energy cost to make the plastic, fill the bottle, transport it to market and then deal with the waste would be "like filling up a quarter of every bottle with oil." (Peter Gleich, an expert on water policy and director at the Pacific Institute in Oakland, California)

For those of you that purchased vermi-castings and a few worms with it, please follow this link for more on indoor composting with worms.
