APSC 100 Classroom Design Challenge
Each year, all first year Engineering students take APSC 100, a course designed to introduce students to among other things, problem analysis and project management. In 2010-11, as part of their team design project, students were asked to design a class room of the future. The class of 700 produced over seventy projects and the top seven finalists presented to a panel of judges in Grant Hall on April 11, 2011.
The top three winners were invited to present their proposal to the Teaching Space Complex committee and received feedback from the the architectural firm, Moriyama & Teshima.
You can find the winner’s proposal here. The two runners-up are here and here. Let us know your thoughts on what kinds of classrooms the new building should have.
