Looking at religion and culture in society

The Department of Religious Studies (http://rels.queensu.ca) is part of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University at Kingston, and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Religious Studies. While the Department of Religious Studies functions separately from Queen’s Theological College, the College is responsible for the administration of the Department on behalf of Queen’s University. As a result of this unique administrative relationship, several professors in the Department of Religious Studies also serve on the Faculty of Queen’s Theological College, teaching religious studies and theology courses that are cross-listed between Queen’s University and Queen’s Theological College.

The award-winning faculty in the Department of Religious Studies at Queen’s University at Kingston include experts in the religions and cultures of the world, including China, India and the Middle East. In addition to this strength, faculty and students also focus on the contemporary Canadian religious landscape in a pluralist society, researching the influence of various religions on Canadian public policy and how Canada's religious landscape is changing as a result of immigration and globalization.
