Research Reports at a Glance:

Project Summary - Shows financial information (surplus/deficit, budget, revenue, expenses, encumbrances (commitments)) for research projects at a summary level. Can be run by project, or P.I. The public pinned reports (see description below) based on the Project Summary report are available for use. They are also available on P.I. and Research Dashboards as graphs.

  • My Project Position - a report showing the surplus deficit position for the projects you have been given access to.
  • My Projects in Deficit - a report showing all projects in deficit that you have access to.

Statement of Operations

  • By Account (most popular) detail information for a single project.
  • Summary financial information for the life of a single project.
  • CFI by program project financial information by program (CFI).

Transaction Details Revenue and Expense - This report will show individual transactions e.g. salary, supplies, travel, P.O.s etc (account range 400000-9999999). Please pick a date range if you need more than just the current month.

Payroll Commitment Details - This report will show you outstanding commitment details at a certain point in time for the criteria entered and will apply your project security.

Payroll Details - This report will show you the actual pay by person for the criteria entered and will apply your project security.  

Accounts Payable Detail  - This report shows you accounts payable information for the criteria entered and will apply your project security. All amounts display in CDN equivalent. 

Budget  - This report will allow you to see the posted account level budget entered for a project to a certain point and will apply your project security.

Budget vs Actual  - This report will show you your budget compared to actual expenditures in the project at a given point and will apply your project security.

Student Financials - This report shows student financial information for the criteria entered and will apply your project security.

Department Reports at a Glance:

Statement of Operations Non- Research - An account level summary of opening surplus/(deficit) + adjustments, current month actuals, year to date actuals, commitments (encumbrances), budget and closing surplus/(deficit) excluding and including commitments for the chosen criteria.

Transaction Details Revenue and Expense - This report will show revenue and expense account transaction line detail for the filter criteria entered (range 100000-3999999). Please pick a date range if you need more than just the current month.

Trust and Endowment - A report for Trust and Endowment funds tracking opening and closing balances for expendable equity (surplus/(deficit)), capital contributions and endowment units as well as in year equity, revenue, expense and unit activity.

The following public pinned reports based on the Trust and Endowment report are available for use:
T&E Deficit Report - a report detailing all trust and endowment funds in a deficit position
Trust Report - a report detailing expendable equity, revenue and expense activity for all trust funds
Endowment Report - a report detailing opening and closing balances for expendable equity (surplus/(deficit)), capital contributions (including Recaps) and endowment units as well as in year equity, revenue, expense and unit activity for all endowed funds.
In Year Endowment Contributions & Recaps - a report detailing all in year capital contributions and recaps for endowed funds
Total Endowment Contributions & Recaps - a report detailing all in year and inception to date capital contributions and recaps for endowed funds

Accounts Payable Details - This report shows you accounts payable information for the criteria entered and will apply your department security. All amounts are being displayed in CDN equivalent.

Journal ID Balance Sheet - TBA

Student Financials - This report shows student financial information for the criteria entered and will apply your department security.

Department Expendable - A summary level report tracking expendable balances with or without commitments and in year revenue and expense activity across all funds. 

                By GL Code Pivot - This report can be pivoted by department/fund, fund/department and fund/program.

                By Account - Choose this report for information on individual funds, departments & programs.

Summary Actuals, Commitments and Budget

Actuals - This report will show revenue and expense account transaction line detail for the filters entered

Budget - Shows inception to date budget detail for criteria entered. All choices will return inception to date totals and applies to operating funds only.

Commitments - This report will show you all summary commitment detail for the criteria entered. Applies to operating funds only.

Transaction Details Balance Sheet - This report will show balance sheet account transaction detail for the filter criteria selected (range 100000-3999999). Please pick a date range if you need more than just the current month.

Common Reports at a Glance:

Fund Listing - The Fund ID identifies the funds used to segregate, control, and monitor resources to help ensure and demonstrate compliance with legal/administrative requirements. See Fund Descriptions for more information.

Department Listing - The Department ID identifies the divisional breakdown of an entity into operating units. See Department IDs for more information.

Program Listing  - The Program ID identifies activities or events directed towards the accomplishment of a set of objectives (e.g. conference, workshop, event, program, etc.). See Program IDs for more information.

Class Listing  - The Class ID identifies activities relating to people and locations (e.g. employee, faculty, student, team, visitor, city, etc.). See Class ID for more information.

Account Listing - The Account ID identifies the nature of a transaction and is used consistently across departments to record revenues and expenses. See   Account ID for more information.

Project Listing - The Project ID identifies activity directed towards the accomplishment of a set of objectives that has a defined beginning and end.  This identifier is used to track research projects (IDs that begin with ‘3’) and/or capital projects (IDs that begin with ‘4’).  Research Project IDs are assigned by Financial Services at which time Principal Investigators are notified.  Capital Project IDs are assigned and administered by Physical Plant Services.
