University Research Services Notice of Intent Deadline

Please email indicating you intend to apply. Information regarding the application content is not required. This will allow URS to provide competition related information to applicants while they prepare their application.

January 8, 2018

University Research Services Optional Full Review Deadline

Applicants requesting an optional full review of their application by University Research Services are asked to provide their application to URS no later than January 8. Faculty of Arts & Science applicants please email your application to Applicants in all other Faculties / Schools please email your application to

January 15, 2018

Mandatory Faculty of Arts and Science TRAQ Submission Deadline

TRAQ DSS forms received after the Faculty of Arts and Science deadline of January 15 (midnight) will not be approved by the Faculty for submission to SSHRC. TRAQ instructions (PDF, 397 KB).

January 22, 2018

University Research Services Administrative Review Deadline

Completed Insight Development Grant applications are to be submitted to University Research Services electronically via the SSHRC research portal. University Research Services can return the application to the applicant for editing following administrative review.

Please submit your TRAQ DDS form by this date for Department Head approval. TRAQ instructions (397 KB).

SSHRC Insight Development Grant Deadline

​All applications must be received by SSHRC. Applications are electronically forwarded to SSHRC by University Research Services.

SSHRC will be holding two webinars on the upcoming Insight Development Grants (IDG) 2018 competition. New this year, a detailed presentation is available in advance of the webinars by selecting these links (you do not need to have a Dropbox account in order to have access this presentation):

The webinars will outline briefly what is new this year and focus on responding to questions. Advance registration is not required. They will be held via Adobe Connect (for the visual presentation, written questions and audio) on the following dates:

Peer Review

The Office of the Vice-Principal (Research) and University Research Services established the Queen’s social sciences, arts and humanities Peer Research Consultants program in 2015. Peer Research Consultants are faculty volunteers who receive up-to-date research information throughout the year from University Research Services and the Queen's SSHRC Leader. They assist colleagues in cognate areas in obtaining peer reviews of their proposals and in showcasing their research. We encourage you to contact the Peer Research Consultant for your cognate area.
