Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) provide a detailed description of commonly used procedures. SOPs offer investigators an alternative to writing detailed procedures in their protocol. Any deviation from the approved procedures must be clearly described and justified in the Animal Use Protocol (AUP) form. Approval of the protocol indicates approval of the deviation from the SOP for that protocol only.
Please follow the link below to the Queen's UACC approved SOPs. All SOP's are listed by species. Access requires your Queen's NET ID and associated password.
These SOPs were created and/or revised by the SOP Subcommittee and approved by the University Animal Care Committee. There is no need to attach SOPs to your Animal Use Protocol in Topaz; you may simply refer to the appropriate SOP number and title in the body of the protocol.
SOP development and revision is an ongoing process. Please ensure that you read all SOPs thoroughly prior to referencing them in any of your protocols. If you have a need for a specific SOP that you do not see in the database, please contact the University Veterinarian ( firstname.lastname@example.org ). Should you require technical assistance with the SOP database or experience difficulty accessing the system, please contact the UACC Coordinator ( email@example.com ).
