Topaz Elements

The offices of the University Animal Care Committee (UACC) and Animal Care Services (ACS) jointly employ the integrated web-based application for Animal Ethics Approval and Animal Ordering.

  • To access Topaz Elements, make sure that you are first connected to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client using your Queen`s NET ID.  The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client can be uploaded from the My QueensU Portal webpage (within the software centre.)
  • Upon first connecting to the VPN you will be required to manually enter the following: vpn.queensu.ca/ouv (this will self populate going forward)
  • Topaz Elements is accessed by clicking the link below:

Topaz Elements

  • Login to Topaz Elements using your Queen`s NET ID as your username and your assigned Topaz Elements password;
  • Please note that Mozilla Firefox (the extended support release found here), Internet Explorer and Safari are recommended web browsers for use with Topaz Elements. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are incompatible.
  • NEW:  An Elements Desktop Application is now available.  This application allows access to Topaz Elements without the need for web browser dependency.  Please note that the application is suitable for PC computers only. Just like in a browser, you must be connected to Cisco AnyConnect before trying to login to Topaz.  Once the application icon loads on your desktop you will be required to configure it the very first time you login.  From the upper left hand corner where it says “File” choose configure and paste the following domain http://topaz.queensu.ca/TOPAZElements/  
  • Contact the UACC Coordinator if you have questions or require technical assistance of any kind (including password reset). (uacc@queensu.ca)
