Strategic Focus of the Vice-Principal (Finance and Administration)

The departments within the Office of the Vice-Principal (Finance and Administration) are responsible for some of the most important aspects of the day-to-day operations of Queen's University, as well as for developing long-term plans for the university's continued expansion and improvement.

The strategic focus of the VPFA includes:

• Ensuring sound and effective financial management and planning.
• Developing a long-term plan for the expansion of the University's infrastructure and acquisition of properties suitable for use in strategic areas .
• Ensuring that our physical facilities and our campus infrastructure are well maintained, safe, easily accessible, welcoming, and user-friendly.
• Enhancing risk management and internal audit capabilities.
• Developing an environmentally, socially and financially sustainable plan for the University's natural and built environments.
• Creating a robust information technology infrastructure at Queen's in support of teaching and learning, research, and administration.
