Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP)

The Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP) was created by the Government of Canada in 2000 with the purpose of the establishment of 2,000 research chairs – Canada Research Chairs (CRCs) –  at universities across Canada. 

CRCs represent research excellence in all disciplines and have the objective of improving our depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthening Canada's international competitiveness, and training the next generation of highly skilled individuals.

SIG

Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Institutional Grant

Through a federal government block grant provided to Queen’s by SSHRC, the recently redesigned SIG competition supports social sciences and humanities researchers with funding for research project development, pilot study work, or to attend or run knowledge-mobilization activities like workshops, seminars or scholarly conferences.

The SIG competition provides funding through two granting programs:

BD175: Denise Anthony, “Big Data, Cyber Security and Healthcare”

The BD175 series is hosting a public lecture, entitled "Big Data, Cyber Security and Healthcare," from Dr. Denise Anthony (Dartmouth College) on February 7 in the School of Medicine Building, Britton Smith Foundation Lecture Theatre. There is a reception at 5:30pm in the Atrium, and the lecture begins at 6:30pm. This lecture is sponsored by Matariki Network of Universities.
