View of Writing Centre from the Learning CommonsSince 1986, the Writing Centre has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of academic writing at Queen's University.

Our program of seminars and workshops, credit courses, and one-on-one tutorials is designed to support students in thinking and writing effectively in all disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

During fall and winter terms, one-on-one appointments with professional staff are available throughout the day and evening and on Saturday mornings.

To book an appointment to discuss your paper or assignment, stop by our offices on the main floor of Stauffer Library or call 613-533-6315. Your call will be returned within 24 hours (excepting on weekends and during holidays.)

You may also use one appointment to work on an application or resume.

Here's what one student had to say about her first session with a Writing Centre Consultant:

"The tutor was extremely helpful in working on the construction of my paper. What I appreciate most in the Writing Centre is its ability to offer suggestions which give me the tools to think critically about my work."

The Writing Centre offers workshops throughout the academic year.

These can be tailored to meet the needs of particular departments or groups of students. Check out our list of workshops for fall 2009, or call the Writing Centre's main office at 613-533-6315 for more information.
