Here's what you can expect from our commitment to your success: 

Financial Support

Confirm your enrolment by making an additional payment (in addition to the $2500 CDN deposit) by August 1 2024, and receive a one-time credit of $7,000 towards your first-year tuition (on top of any International Admission Awards received). This recognizes the challenges posed by recent announcements and reaffirms our commitment to your academic journey.

Enjoy peace of mind with a four-year tuition guarantee, ensuring cost certainty with no annual increases throughout your degree program.  

Note: the four-year tuition guarantee is only applicable to your first-entry, first-degree program. Should you decide to switch programs during your time at Queen’s, the four-year tuition guarantee will not be transferrable.

All incoming international first year undergraduate students have access to our early move-in program at no additional cost providing early access to campus, helping facilitate a smooth transition to Canada and Queen’s.

Next Steps to Receiving your Provincial Attestation Letter and Letter of Acceptance 

  1. Pay the non-refundable $2500 CDN deposit by the acceptance deadline in your SOLUS Student Centre. Make sure to save your receipt showing payment. You will need it for Step 2. 

  2. If you require a Provincial Attestation Letter you must upload a receipt showing the $2500 CDN deposit payment to allow Queen’s to request it for you.  

  3. Complete the Provincial Attestation Letter Form. Completing this form will help you determine if you require a Provincial Attestation Letter. 

How to pay your deposit

International Students Requiring a Provincial Attestation Letter 

5. Once your Provincial Attestation Letter is available and ready to be sent you will receive two separate emails.  

  • The first email will contain your Provincial Attestation Letter.
  • The second email will contain your Letter of Acceptance.

6. These documents are required for your Study Permit application. The university will send you PDF copies to the email address you used on your application.

International Students Who Do Not Require a Provincial Attestation Letter 

5. Once your Letter of Acceptance is ready, you will receive one email containing the PDF copy of your document.  

6. This document is required for your Study Permit application. The university will send you PDF copies to the email address you used on your application. 

Note: if you are unsure whether they need a Provincial Attestation Letter, can complete the Provincial Attestation Letter Request Form. Completing this form will help you determine if you require a Provincial Attestation Letter.

Payment Applied to your Student Account 

The amount transferred to the university will be applied to your tuition and fees for the first year of study. Should you choose to pay more than the required deposit amount, any amount remaining will be used to pay future terms’ tuition and fees. Funds will not be refunded to you for any reason while you are still in Canada.  The university does not charge any service fee, nor do we pay any interest on the deposit.

Terms and Conditions

  • The deposit is non-refundable, except under specific circumstances:
    • Students whose offer of admission is revoked.
    • Students who applied for a Study Permit prior to August 1 using BorderPass and were denied due to reasons beyond their control.
  • Students applying for a study permit after August 1 are ineligible for a refund if the permit is not approved in time for the term start.
  • If unable to attend the original start term, admission and deposit will be automatically transferred to the next available intake.
  • Failure to attend, except under mentioned exceptions, will result in forfeiture of the deposit fees.

  • To be eligible, students must:
    • Remain an International fee-paying student.
    • Maintain full-time enrollment status throughout the academic year.
    • Must remain registered in both terms with a full course load.
  • Should a student's status in Canada change, the credit would no longer apply.
