About Mitchell Hall

Thanks to the generosity of Bruce Mitchell, Sc’68 (Civil), DSC’20, and many supportive alumni, Mitchell Hall is an essential hub of the Queen’s Engineering community. Built upon the former footprint (brownfield site) of the Physical and Health Education Centre (PEC) and Jock Harty Arena, Mitchell Hall's doors opened in December 2018.

Mitchell Hall is home to three modern teaching studios used by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. The building also houses leading resources to support interdisciplinary research into human-machine interaction, new laboratories to support collaborative research in the field of freshwater resources, a learning commons for Mechanical engineering students, and rapid prototyping and testing labs.
